Here at Policleto you can appreciate the peaceful and beautiful landscape so often seen in many of the Italian Renaissance paintings. Here you can hike along the many trails in the countryside or follow cultural itineraries. It is the perfect place to enjoy both the city life and the countryside throughout the year. In less than half an hour drive, you can immerse yourself in the local culture visiting the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery and enjoying the countless works of art scattered around Florence. And again if you feel like going on a shopping  trip Florence city centre and  the Oltrarno surroundings are full of shops and workshops to suit all budgets. In short, Policleto is the ideal place to fully enjoy a wonderful holiday.

Polykleitos (Argo, fifth century BC - ...) was a sculptor, an ancient Greek theorist and a bronze sculptor, he was active between about 460 BC and 420 BC. He was one of the greatest figures of the classical period in Greek sculpture, upon whom relies most of the Greek sculpture of the following century. Polykleitos left a written statement in a treatise called Kanon of which only two fragments remain. In this treatise Polykleitos made systematic the mathematical ratio and proportions for the ideal human body. We decided to call our agritourism  after Polykleitos to honor this artist who devoted his entire life to beauty and harmony.
